UBC AWP’s Dr. Marina (Nina) von Keyserlingk, has been named the 2024 recipient of the Dr. Suning Wang Award for Outstanding Graduate Mentorship by the Canadian Association for Graduate Studies (CAGS).
Dr. von Keyserlingk is known not only for her groundbreaking research but also for her exceptional commitment to mentoring graduate students. She is deeply respected by her students for recognizing their unique challenges and guiding them with empathy, flexibility, and support. She encourages students to take ownership of their research and align their work with their personal values. Nina is an internationally recognized leader in animal welfare science, currently ranked second globally among women scientists in the field of animal and veterinary science.
