About

I grew up on a farm and as far as I can remember, animals have taken a big place in my life. I have always sought to better understand the animals around me. That is what led my academic journey to a BSc in Life Sciences and then an MSc in Animal Behavior.

I started to work with the Animal Welfare Program as a Visiting International Research Student while completing my Master’s degree. Based at the UBC Dairy Education and Research Centre, I was pleased to find an environment where we could conduct research and stay in touch with the reality of a dairy farm.

My current research is focused on the effects of the early-life environment on dairy calves’ behavioral development.
