About

I have worked with companion and farm animals my whole life and have begun focusing on animal sheltering since working at the BC SPCA for the last 2 years. I work as an Animal Care Attendant and mostly work with the cats in the shelter. I enjoy the work a lot even though it is quite emotionally taxing; there is always something to learn and being able to spend time with the animals is so rewarding.

What brought me to the AWP was the opportunity to learn and hopefully make a difference with my research. I am studying the welfare and mental health of dogs in breeding facilities. I am interested to learn more about the common breeding practices and I am hoping to discover if smaller-run operations are better for dog welfare and can be a suitable alternative to large commercial facilities.
