About

I have worked with companion and farm animals my whole life and have begun focusing on animal sheltering since working at the BC SPCA for the last 2 years. I work as an Animal Care Attendant and mostly work with the cats in the shelter. I enjoy the work a lot even though it is quite emotionally taxing; there is always something to learn and being able to spend time with the animals is so rewarding.

What brought me to the AWP was the opportunity to learn and contribute through my research. I am studying the welfare and health of dogs in breeding environments. I am particularly interested in understanding the diverse breeding practices and exploring whether certain operations might offer different approaches to promoting dog welfare.
