How has your research/work helped to improve animal welfare?
My work with the BC SPCA’s AnimalKind accreditation and referral program focuses on applying animal welfare research. We developed evidence-based standards for humane wildlife and rodent control and dog training. We also created audits, which now allow us to accredit companies offering these animal welfare-informed services. BC SPCA’s AnimalKind program also contributes to public education by raising awareness of the importance of humane dog training methods and wildlife-friendly control methods.
