In 1997, the University of British Columbia’s Animal Welfare Program was launched through funding from many donors including the BC SPCA, Dairy Farmers of Canada, the BC Veterinary Medical Association and individuals, with matching funds from Canada’s Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council. Over the past twenty-five years, the program has established itself as a leader in the field of animal welfare science both locally and globally.
In 2022, we are thrilled to be celebrating the 25th Anniversary of this impactful program, and we invite you to join us in the celebrations. Our webinars will connect alumni and practitioners from around the globe—our in-person events will connect research with the community and our stories help share just a few of the lasting impacts of our research program.
