Congratulations to AWP students for hosting and presenting at the 2025 LFS GSC!

Students from the Animal Welfare Program were recognized for their outstanding research and leadership at the 2025 Land and Food Systems Graduate Student Conference. The annual event brought together graduate students from across the faculty to share their work, exchange ideas, and build connections across disciplines.

Several graduate students took home top awards for their presentations! Sky Sheng (left)  won second place , and Bianca Vandresen (right) won third place in the oral presentation competition.

As well, Justine Brongers, an undergraduate student supervised by Lara Sirovica and Bianca Vandresen, took home the people’s choice award for her poster presentation. Congratulations to all the award recipients!

In addition to celebrating the award winners, special thanks go out to AWP grad students Maya Bodnar (Treasurer), Lara Sirovica (Program Representative), and Elizabeth Russell (President), whose leadership was essential to the success of the event!
