Social housing reduces neophobia in dairy calves

Check out our latest paper “Complex social housing reduces food neophobia in dairy calves,” recently published in the Journal of Dairy Science and authored by PhD student Joao Henrique Cardoso Costa, colleague Rua Daros and professors Nina von Keyserlingk and Dan Weary. Calves showed reduced responses to novel foods when housed with other calves and cows. Our research contributes to the growing body of literature identifying the benefits of social housing for dairy calves.
