Marina (Nina) von Keyserlingk, Professor in the Animal Welfare Program, along with one of the Program’s long-standing collaborators, Dr. Maria Jose Hoetzel from the Federal University of Santa Catarina, were recently awarded a CNPq Science Without Borders Grant. Over the next three years the grant will fund Nina’s biannual visits to Brazil and provide research funds for Brazilian graduate students to undertake research benchmarking lameness on Brazilian dairy farms and assessing attitudes of Brazilian citizens to contentious issues such as dehorning and cow calf separation.
