AWP MSc graduate Christina Doelling takes on a new role at BC Dairy/Alberta Milk!

Congratulations to Christina Doelling (MSc’ 25) on her new role at BC Dairy/Alberta Milk!

Christina is originally from Chicago. She began her journey in animal welfare as the Research Coordinator at Lincoln Park Zoo, where she worked with captive and wild great apes. Upon realizing she wanted to study animal welfare, she moved to Canada to join the AWP. While Christina never thought she would be a “cow person,” she says that working with cattle in the AWP changed her life!

For her master’s, she conducted a systematic review on non-nutritive oral behaviours in dairy calves. She identified practical, evidence-based strategies that farmers can implement to reduce these behaviours and better support calves’ behavioural needs.

At BC Dairy/Alberta Milk, Christina is the Community Engagement Coordinator. Her role consists of planning and executing various partnerships and events to promote dairy education and farmer sentiment within the community.
